Samsung To Release DDR5 RAM Next Year

If you are looking for updated information about Samsung To Release DDR5 RAM Next Year you have come to the right place. You should visit the for more details.

The advancement in the RAM technology has been more or less stagnant for the past 6 years. The DDR4 RAMs were released in 2014. The companies have been working on DDR5 RAM technologies for quite a while now, but no one has been able to come up with a way that would make mass production profitable.

But it does look like Samsung has managed to do it. In a press release, Samsung has said that they would start volume production of their LPDDR5 and DDR5 RAMs next year. This is thanks to EUV technology; Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography. Samsung claims to be the first company to implement in the DRAM manufacturing process. It is being used by them in the manufacturing of their 10nm D1x DDR4 DRAM modules, of which 1 million units were shipped worldwide. These modules have completed customer evaluation.

“With the production of our new EUV-based DRAM, we are demonstrating our full commitment toward providing revolutionary DRAM solutions in support of our global IT customers,” said Jung-bae Lee, executive vice president of DRAM Product & Technology at Samsung Electronics. “This major advancement underscores how we will continue contributing to global IT innovation through timely development of leading-edge process technologies and next-generation memory products for the premium memory market.”

They said that EUV will enable them to manufacture DDR5 RAMs. According to the press releases, Samsung will begin mass production of D1a LPDDR5 and DDR5 DRAM modules next year. “UV will be fully deployed in Samsung’s future generations of DRAM, starting with its fourth-generation 10nm-class (D1a) or the highly-advanced 14nm-class, DRAM,” they said in the press release.

How soon we will be able to use them will depend on how soon CPU manufacturers decide to build CPUs that will support DDR5 RAM. That means gamers and normal PC users might have to wait a bit longer than the official release.
